EU02 GAMES
Social Practices of Architecture and their Political Dimension
2008-2009
Tutor: Socrates Stratis
The design of games is part of an elective course, at the Department of Architecture, University of Cyprus, where there is an investigation of all sort of borders and liminal conditions caused by globalised mobilities in the contemporary urban environments.
The environment of the E.U. 02 game, 2008 09, was Nicosia. The form of the games designed varies from that of table games to that of participation urban games, (see S. Stratis, “The Notion of Game as Part of Urban Design Practices”, DESIGN Principles & Practices: An International Journal, Volume 3, Number 4, Melbourne, 2009)
Lost Urbanity
Team: Christos Pasadakis, Gregoris Kalnis, Katerina Neophytou

Pub-ble / Pri-ble
Team: A. Angelidou, G. Kallis, Ch. Stephanou
The “Pubble Vs Prible” is a table game where the city becomes an arena of creative and destructive tension between public and private interests. The game activities can be erased but also archived through the game memory book (references to scrabble game)
