Limassol Square (Πλατεία Ηρώων)

The action involves stories of Limassol residents regarding caring practices that involve culture production in their city (music, theatre, dance, visual arts, etc.), the city’s environment, and older people. The action makes visible the unsung heroes who hide behind such caring practices. “Practices of Care” invites the public to write their own stories and upload them on a website by scanning a QR code. It is printed on panels located around the Heroes Square redevelopment site. The stories are coded, thanks to an alphabet with colourful shapes and placed on the paving of the public space.

​​The action is organized by the Laboratory of Urbanism University of Cyprus (LUCY) in collaboration with the architects’ team to refurbish Heroes Square. (AA&U-Stratis, and KIS-Architecture-Pasadakis).
