AYIA PHYLA

2005-13AgiaPhyla-ColorCodedAlphabetEvent -Jan2024 (8).jpeg

The pedestrianization of the historical fabric of Ayia Phyla, Limassol's suburb, included the placement of stories along the threshold between the private and public properties. The project team collected stories thanks to door to door interviews regarding the everyday collective memory of the community's inhabitants. The team edited the stories and had them decoded thanks to the colour coded alphabet. Members of the community participated in placing the cubes with the letters in the ground, becoming witnesses of the hidden letters and the presence of the colourful shapes of the coded alphabet.
